A combination of desk research, urban safaris in various parks, and surveys of citizens was conducted to understand the current usage and needs of green spaces. Additionally, interviews with experts in landscape architecture and natural resource management were carried out to gain deeper insights.

Results revealed that only 23% of respondents live near a park and that the green space per person in European cities is surprisingly low, approximately 25m². The interviews and analyses highlighted the importance of parks for urban quality of life and their essential role in combating climate change.
